Cody wilson
SENIOR analyst
Cody Wilson joined Bella after graduating from UCLA with a Master’s in quantitative economics, where his studies focused on labor economics, machine learning, and econometrics. His capstone project for the program explores how university tenure influences professors’ teaching incentives.
Prior to graduate school, Cody graduated from UCLA with a double major in economics and history. His undergraduate capstone essay examines historical narratives about popular perceptions of the emperor in Occupied Japan. He served as the coordinator of standalone illustration projects for the Daily Bruin, UCLA’s student newspaper, and previously worked in public education.

Before studying it in an academic setting, economics was a mysterious force that afflicted everyone Cody knew. As a child, he jokingly blamed anything that went wrong on the “economy.”
Economics continued to operate as a mysterious force dictating the history he studied at the undergraduate level. To get to the bottom of this “economics” business, Cody finally delved into it academically. Years later, this field can still be perplexing, but each project brings him closer to satisfying his curiosity.
Cody’s goal at Bella is to explore our subjects of research as rigorously as possible and demystify the often-arcane world of economics, particularly as it relates to private equity.
When he’s not wrestling data or clarifying technical details, he is usually reading, drawing, painting, or admiring dogs at the Boston Common.
